Dollar will try and scam you any way they can. I travel weekly for work and decided to give them a shot. NEVER AGAIN!
Dollar charged me for 2 days for all services when I had the car for LESS than 24 hours. They came back and said I returned it 29 minutes past what they consider their 2 day mark. DON'T DO IT!!
With amazing car rentals out there, take a taxi before renting from this scamming company.
In good faith, i booked a car through a 3rd party: not realizing that Economybookings.com would charge me $248.59 AND Dollar Rent a Car would also charge me for the rental. I still have not received a refund for the bogus $248.59 that Economybookings.com charged my credit card. This is a fraud and a scam. Dollar-rent-a car should be ashamed of allowing fraudulent activity from a 3rd party to abuse their paying customers. Renting a car should not be like this AND of course, you can't speak to anyone... not at Dollar not at Economybookings... nothing. Flat silence regarding a refund. This is just straight fraud. I hold both accountable and will not use either, in the future.

I would not recommend Dollar car rental to ANYONE!. My son recently lost an $800.00 deposit. He was able to rent the car online but was declined the car at the Atlanta airport. thank goodness Avis took care of him. The reason was because he had a provisional license, he had just turned 21 and been in the Marines for the last 2 years and due to relocations had not had time to renew his license. I hope this review costs them more than what my son lost. Go with Avis.
Garbage company, Garbage customer service. I don't think they retain a single customer. Even their system is down most of the time.
I should have checked the reviews before I booked.
I booked a car for 3 days but upon pickup they wouldn't let me take the car because my brand new Mexico City driver's license did not look like the one in their international license reference book that was outdated by at least 10 years. They then refused to look up the new version on literally any other medium and also claimed they couldn't cancel the reservation themselves and that it would have to be done over the phone through customer service. It eventually took 3 hours of waiting on the line to talk to a person who could help me only for them to falsely claim that I did my booking through a third-party website (miles car rentals, a website that I have never used or even visited in my whole life) and asked me to take my problem to them instead.
Absolute scam. As far as faceless corporations go this one is especially faceless and assumes no responsibility for anything.
Hire more receptionists during busy times! Showed up at to pick up car after deplaning and the line at the Dollar counter was 200 feet long and not moving! One worker! It would have taken hours to get a car. Went to the Enterprise counter and had a car in 5 minutes! Of course, I had to eat the prepaid amount to reserve a car with Dollar! I WILL never do business with Dollar again! Beware!
2 hour wait for a pre paid car. Not a line at the counter - they were short on the cars themselves. I saw some people with reservations get turned away.
Horrible company! Charges fees at the counter that are not authorized and have zero documentation of proof that the charges were approved by anyone. Their customer service agents just repeat themselves over and over again that the charges were approved at the counter by the agent there but show zero documentation of any signature or any kind of approval.
Just awful. Understaffed at desk. Took hours to get our car. Ruined the first day of vacation. Shouldn’t be in business.
BE AWARE! They will charge you for things you didn't authorize. Charged me for $70.00 in tolls and I used $10.00 in tolls. I refused the toll pass because I knew how many toll roads I would be taking. When I called customer service I waited on hold for 20 minutes and then was hung up on after being put on hold. I called back and the person I spoke to was rude, couldn't explain to me why the charges were what they were, and refused to credit me for the toll charges. I will just dispute the charge on my cc and NEVER use them again. The worst customer service experience. They lie and can't be trusted.
Terrible, they make Fraud, they offer a really good price but when you get to get the car that you already paid they said that they do not have it available, but you can rent the same car for 5 time what you paid, they just fish client to make them paid what ever they want it is a Fraud.
I wish I could give this company less than one star. Contract was for rental of a mustang convertible. That was not available when we went to pickef up the car at the contracted time. We were told we could wait for quite some time or we had the alternative of taking a convertible Jeep which of itself was a piece of junk.
We were driving four and a half hours from their Miami airport location and within 20 minutes of our long trip the cruise control gave out with a malfunction. So much for convenient cruise driving on a very long highway stretch.
Since there were no toll booths in Florida the tolls were billed directly to dollar. We incurred $9.95 of tolls which were accompanied by a $90 processing fee! When I called to complain about this total ABSURDITY I was told that it was in the contract, you know the one with the print you can't even read.
When asked to review the company via their survey, I complained about not getting the car I had contracted for and basically received a letter back from them which gave me little more than a shoulder shrug.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT EVEN IN THEIR REAR VIEW MIRROR!!!!!!!!
Business Owner, easy going. Currently working 200 + miles from MSP. Need to extend my rental for 4 days and fly out of MSP. Called they are telling me I cant and that I need to bring the car in and trade it out. Closest return spot is 350 miles away. This makes it a 700 mile trip. Asked to speak with manager 45 minute wait no help, called back same scenario. Your online rental terms specify the cost for extending rentals. You tell me I can't because you gave me a car with registration that is lapsing.
If I could give a 0 I would. I am currently losing money due to this company because they never once communicated a holding fee. When asked about it their representative was extremely rude. Pay the extra 50 bucks to avoid this company like a plague. The best we can hope is they go bankrupt soon.

Not easy at all. No phone number available. They force you to go through Facebook Messenger to communicate. A joke of a company. Don't give them your business.

You can get dollar but their website sends you to a third party and you cannot get your money back from them.

An absolute scam of a company. Look at the reviews on Yelp, Google, BBB, etc. This company is owned and filled by unethical people lying and misleading customers to steal their money.
